Not the only wannabe

Some days i look in my kitchen, completely baffled as to what to make for dinner for my husband and I. other times, usually while I'm at work at the Deli, the idea just hits me and I'm excited all day to get home- knowing exactly what i want to make for dinner. My world revolves around food!


My first job was at a sunflower seed factory. The first thing that they have you do after, the ceremonial 3 hours of training videos, is sign a contract of secrecy. that being said of course i had to find out what it was that i was to be hiding. turns out it was just the spice blend for he seeds!


My 2nd job inspired an epiphany! Working for a local restaurant/ bar as the night cook. Learning the recipes and tricks to everything, make me the happiest lady in the world. I learned things at this job that i know i will carry with me for the rest of my life! (keep in mind some of which are bad habits that i will never kick haha) even though the food was mostly pre-packaged garbage, i loved the atmosphere of satisfying hungry people!


My 3rd job, which is my current employment, is at a deli. This being the very first time having to actually speak with customers I'd say I'm doing a pretty good job adapting. Although the pay sucks and Oregon taxes and Union dues takes 1/3rd of my paycheck, I still love the sensation of feeding people.


This fall i will finally be going to college after putting if off for 2 years and i am excited to learn the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Even in my head that sounds pathetic, knowing that 1 week into it i will pull my hair out from stress.
